The veils are an indie alternative band. The recording sessions at west point studios lasted only three weeks and at the end of the summer the album was done and ready to be mixed. The veils have often been compared to the bad seeds both for their musical approach and lyrical attitude and andrews vocals even call to mind nick cave with a little bit of young intelligible tom waits thrown in for good measure. The band s heartbeat is that of finn andrews a globetrotting goth troubadour from a rock n roll lineage he is the spawn of xtc s barry.

Nux vomica is the second album by the veils released on 18 september 2006. The album features production by el p run the jewels and adam atom greenspan who was behind the band s critically acclaimed album nux vomica. The veils started in the 60s with a respectful collection of light and fragile jangles before embracing the dark eye linered side and allowing their inner love spurned romantic out. The veils fronted by lead singer and songwriter finn andrews release their highly anticipated new album total depravity on august 26th.
